I am evaluating an existing structure that used HIT-RE 500 SD epoxy for it's anchors. I am trying to determine whether it is adequate for new loads, and acceptable for our high seismic zone. Was HIT-RE 500 SD tested and approved for cracked concrete? Do you have the historic capacity information?
Hi Kristen,
Thank you for reaching out. The HIT-RE 500 SD anchor has been replaced by HIT-RE 500 V3. HIT-RE 500 SD was qualified for both cracked concrete and Seismic Design Categories A through F.
I have attached a substitution letter showing that HIT-RE 500 V3 is a replacement for HIT-RE 500 SD in concrete applications, as well as including reference load capacity tables.
As this is a discontinued product, for further technical data, please reach out to our Technical Services team at hnatechnicalservices@hilti.com.
Regards,
Katelyn
