Hilti Profis / Kwik Bolt 3

Hilti Profis does not seem to have the Kwik Bolt 3 for masonry connection design - what anchor should be selected that has similar structural properties?

Hello,

The KB3 wedge anchor does not have approvals for masonry base materials, so it will not be included in the Anchoring to Masonry module in PROFIS Engineering. Alternatively, you could consider using a wedge anchor such as the KB-TZ2 or KB1, which have approvals for certain types of masonry.

Matthew

When you say it doesn't have approval for anchoring into masonry, what do you mean exactly? I see the latest ESR report expired in February 2022, so does that mean no longer approves the use of the KB3 into masonry?

Hello,

The KB3 only has approvals for uncracked concrete base materials, per ESR-2302. If you would like to use a wedge anchor with approvals for masonry base materials, then the KB-TZ2 or KB1 may be suitable for your application.
