Hilti Kwik-X Installation with Impact Wrench

When installing a Hilti Kwik-X, after the anchor is set flush against the base plate, what if the impact wrench keeps going and turns the screw too much (i.e., twists in the hole without moving into the hole)? Can that lose the grip of the screw anchor as it turns "through" the concrete?

Hi Brad,

It is important to follow the correct setting on the impact wrench per the Instructions for Use when installing the Kwik-X. This ensures that the anchor will be set properly during the installation and avoid over-torqueing which can cause issues such as splitting of the concrete or steel failure of the screw.

For further information regarding the installation for the Kwik-X, please reach out to hnatechnicalservices@hilti.com or feel free to give us a call at 877-749-6337.

Regards,
Ashley
