Hilti HIT HY200 Minimum Member Thickness

Hello,

Please see attach profis engineering file. This is for a post installed connection with Hilti HIT HY200 w/ #4 reinforcing bars in to an existing 7.5" slab. I am trying to increase the embedment depth from 6.25" to 6.75". However, Profis engineering is not letting me and says the minimum slab thickness requirement is not met. Can you direct me to where the minimum thickness requirement is in the ESR or ACI? The ESR 4868 section 4.2.3 notes there is no limit on member thickness and that cover requirements per ACI 318 should be met. For an interior condition, the minimum clear cover is 3/4". Why is profis engineering defaulting to h_ef 1.25" for the member thickness?

Hi Eric,

It appears you are trying to do concrete to concrete, or rebar development, calculations under the anchoring to concrete module in PROFIS Engineering. Anchoring to concrete and post-installed rebar pertain to two different sections in the code and have different requirements. If you are indeed looking for rebar development, you should utilize the concrete to concrete module.

Regards,
Dani
