The concrete contractor installed the anchor bolts incorrectly, so now we are cutting those off flush with the concrete and we need to replace them with 1/2" Hilti epoxied anchor bolts of equal capacity. What are our options?
Hi Len,
To compare capacity and design utilizations and for general design help, engineers typically utilize Hilti’s PROFIS Engineering Suite software to perform calculations based on the specific conditions of the project. This web-based software can be accessed at profisengineering.hilti.com.
For anchor product selection help, please see Hilti’s Anchor Product Technical Guide from Hilti's website. Below are quick links to sections of the Technical Guide:
- Anchor Selection Chart on pages 4-7 - a helpful comparison of Hilti's Anchors
- HIT-RE 500 V3 Technical Data with threaded rod
- HIT-HY 200 V3 Technical Data with threaded rod
Ultimately, all design decisions are up to the Engineer of Record for the project.

Ashley
