I'm the structural engineer on a job where we designed the diaphragm to be welded to the steel framing. Contractor came back asking to use your Hiliti x-enp 15 L15 pins and submitted back up data showing they were equivalent which we were okay with. During installation, they used a combination of using welds and the Hilti pins (sometimes along the length of the same beam). Is there a concern using both attachment methods?

Hilti does not have any testing for the X-ENP 19 frame fasteners to be used along the same beam as a welded frame fastener. Therefore, it will be up to your engineering judgement to determine if the connection is suitable.
