Hilti CP 604 self-leveling firestop sealant

The Firestop Systems Specifiers Guide, U.S. Volume 18, pages 501 and 502 describe a product as "Hilti CP 604 self-leveling firestop sealant". I cannot find a system with that name in the specifiers guide. Where can I find information on this CP 604 system?

Hello Joe,

Some of our UL tested systems call out for the option of three firestop sealants; CP 604 Self-Leveling Firestop Sealant, Hilti CFS-S-SIL GG firestop Silicone Sealant, and CFS-S SIL SL Firestop Silicone Sealant. CP 604 Self-Leveling Firestop Sealant was an older product which was replaced with the CFS-S SIL SL Firestop Silicone Sealant. The reason the systems list the CP 604 Self-Leveling Firestop Sealant is due to the time frame that the testing took place. We no longer sell the CP 604 Self-Leveling Firestop sealant so you will not find any current information, but should look at the CFS-S SIL SL firestop Silicone sealant instead.

I hope this helped clear things up, please let us know if you have any other questions.

Regards,
Dakota Reid

Hello Joe, As for the training portion of your question; that is something that one of the Local Fire Protection Specialist can help with. As far as adding a sleeve or any other changes to the system, you will need to submit for an engineering judgement. When submitting the engineering judgement to usfirestopeng@hilti.com let us know your location, and that you are looking for training so that we can help you get in touch with the appropriate people. Two more questions: 1. Where can I find training information on constructing a fire blocking system similar to the one described on pages 501 and 502 of the Firestop System Specifiers Guide? 2. We would like to incorporate sleeves in the fire blocking system for future wiring needs. Can we place sleeves within the system described on page 501/502 (UL F-A-8012) and then firestop these empty sleeves similar to the firestop system described on page 88 (UL C-AJ-0055)?

Hello Joe, If your application meets the system parameters then there should be nothing additional needed, but if there are deviations then you would need to submit for an engineering judgement or find a system that works. below is the link to one of our request forms. If you want to submit for an engineering judgement please fill out the form and email it back to usfirestopeng@hilti.com. https://www.hilti.com/content/dam/documents/pdf/w1/firestop/W1_en_engineering_judgement_request_form.pdf Regards, Dakota Reid

Thanks. That was just the info I needed. UL system F-A-8012 (shown on page 501) appears to be the design most-applicable to our project. Is there a way for Hilti to comment as to the our selection of UL-system?
