Help with Anchoring in 3in of concrete
I have a project in CA where I need to anchor a Relaying Cabinet to the floor of a Control Bldg. The anchoring was not very well thought out in the design phase, so now I am tasked with anchoring these panels to the bldg floor that is only 3" thick. The loads per anchor 450lb in shear and 120lb in tension/compression. What are my best options in terms of holding these panels to the concrete floor?

Hi Ryan,For shallower embedments, engineers typically consider Hilti’s drop-in anchors such as the HDI +/HDI, HDI-P. and HDI-P TZ. Installation requirements, including minimum concrete thickness, anchor spacing, and concrete edge distance, can be found in each respective anchor’s section of the Anchor Fastening Technical Guide. Operation outside these installation requirements may result in concrete splitting among other failure modes, and ultimately the selection of anchor is at the discretion of the Engineer of Record on the project.Best,Sinan
