Help with Anchorage Design

I've attached a report of a solution I've arrived at and was hoping you could provide assistance with it.

I'm attaching a new Steel Beam to a 3000 psi, 16"x16" Concrete Column cast in the late 1950's. This will be a shear-only connection. It seems like it would be best to fit the anchors in the center of the column, as edge distance is so critical.

Would you be able to suggest a better solution? Could I have an anchorage plate that wraps around the adjacent sides of the column and anchor into the adjacent sides, as well? Is that a thing?

Hi JT,

Thank you for reaching out. Unfortunately, Hilti is unable to provide any guidance that may be considered a registered design service. However, I would suggest continuing to utilize the PROFIS Engineering software to determine the anchors and layout that would be best for your application.

If you have any specific questions regarding a PROFIS Engineering design file, feel free to email the file and any questions to hnatechnicalservices@hilti.com.

Regards,
Ashley
