Gaps behind anchored fixture
What is the maximum gap behind a mounted fixture before a mechanical anchor is considered to be in shear and bending? Its common when mounting steel fixtures to concrete surfaces to find imperfections in the concrete substrate that force a gap between steel fixture and concrete. Its common practice to grout these gaps once they become substantial; however its unclear where the threshold is where grouting becomes required.

Hi Matteo,
The decision of when to grout a standoff condition is up to the Engineer of Record for the project. If you are designing in PROFIS Engineering, the available standoff conditions, including standoff with grouting, will be available to use in your design.
