Firestopping a cable tray penetration through an exterior concrete firewall

A cable tray with (11) 500MCM 15kV cables (shown on the ground in the picture) will pass through an outdoor concrete firewall via a 36"x8"x6" deep opening (you can see the penetration cutout in the firewall in the picture). The concrete firewall has a 3 hour rating. The cable tray will be covered on the top and bottom when finished. I want to know what what HILTI product is recommended to seal the opening inside and around the cable tray at the concrete firewall penetration. FS-ONE MAX?

Hello Dale,

Because of the size of the opening, we can't provide a solution with only FS ONE MAX. Please see the attached system. It is likely to work for your larger opening and cable tray. If something about it does not match your actual conditions we can address your application through an Engineering Judgment which will be a custom detail showing your exact application with the firestop components required to maintain the stated ratings.
To officially submit for Engineering Judgment please go to www.hilti.com/ej
