I have 2 beam penetrations thru 2HR Rated shaft wall and looking for the right detail to use. Please see attached.
- Can the detail WL 7188b be used for beam size exceeding W14X90?
- What is the min. dim for the mineral wool packing around beam.

W-L-7188 is limited to the size of the opening and the beam size mentioned in the system. However, we can still address your application through an Engineering Judgment which will be a custom detail showing your exact application with the firestop components required to maintain the stated ratings. The minimum thickness of the mineral wool we would suggest is 4" or the minimum thickness requirement as mentioned in W-L-8065 or W-L-8079.
