Is there a standard detail or existing EJ for a firestop joint around a spray fireproofed beam supporting a composite slab? This is a very common condition, but I'm not finding an existing assembly anywhere. It would appear to be both a head-of-wall condition similar to HW-D-0042 combined with a thru-penetration like W-L-7188, but the beam is SFRM protected and ideally the joint follow the irregular perimeter instead of a bulk rectangular opening.
Hello,
I have attached our two UL listings for Steel I-beams with SFRM fire proofing going through a gypsum wall or concrete wall, with the beam supporting a concrete over metal decking slab. If you need to change orientation of the decking or the type of floor assembly we will have to address that with an engineering judgement, we can also provided single side access details for these conditions if needed. If you would like an engineering judgement, you will need to submit a request through the Hilti Construction Platform. More information on the platform can be found at Hilti.com/EJ
Thank you,
Alex Hernandez
