Hi,
Could you please provide us with the fire rating for the HILTI HIT-HY 200 Adhesive and if there is an approach we need to follow to install these anchors?
Summary of the projects: The client wants to add new stairs to an existing office, so we are punching a hole in the existing PT slab to run stairs from one floor to another. Also, the slab opening has handrails installed on its perimeter.
So, in order to connect the handrails, we have provided C-Channels on the perimeter of the opening. The C-channels are connected to the existing slab with 3/4"Dia. Threaded rods with HILTI HIT HY200 adhesive. We were informed that the stairs are located in a fire-rated area, and we will need to see if the adhesive that we have provided is fire-rated or not. We are worried that a fire may cause a reduction of bond strength and ultimately cause a failure.
I tried to look up the technical supplement but did not find anything regarding the fire rating.
Let me know if you all need any additional information.
Thank you.
Hi Aditya,
HIT-HY 200 V3 does not have a fire rating and is not permitted to support fire-resistive construction. However, information on the long term and short-term temperature ranges can be found in ESR-4868.

Ashley
