Fasteners for URM to support permanent dead loads
Is there a fastener or fastening system to attach support angles to a 13" unreinforced brick masonry wall which will support permanent dead loads? ESR-4144 indicates that the HIT-HY 270 is only to support short term wind and seismic loadings. Can this be used for dead load support or is there another product to be used for URM?

Hi Joe,
HIT-HY 270 does have testing for anchorages into multi-wythe brick walls. This technical information can be found beginning on page 188 of Hilti's Anchor Fastening Product Technical Guide. The data in ESR-4144 is specific to seismic retrofit applications. For information on standard anchorages with multi-wythe brick, please refer to the information in our product technical guide.
