ESR-3814 Torque

ESR-3814 discusses torque and notes Tmax but does not define the Tmax value. Can you clarify?

I also reviewed FTG 22Ed but did not find any info.

Hi Jeff,

Thank you for reaching out. In regard to Tmax or maximum installation torque for adhesive anchors, the installation torque is to fasten or clamp down the fixture to the base material. On page 4 within the Instructions for Use (IFU) for HIT RE-500 V3, which can also be found starting on page 40 of ESR-3814, the value listed for the installation torque will be a maximum. It is important to note that since most of the Hilti adhesive anchor systems are not torque-controlled (excluding the HIT-HY200 with HIT-Z Anchor Rod), the installation torque can be lower than the maximum value; however, it will be up to the Engineer of Record (EOR) on the project to determine that value and verify that the fixture is properly secured to the base material.

Regards,
Kevin
