Epoxy dowels in 2-course brick wall

Hello, I am trying to understand if I am allowed to drill&epoxy post-installed dowels with HY270 into the top of an existing brick wall (2 wythes thick) for a new reinforced brick parapet above. Table 15 (note 2) from the Hilti HY270 Technical guide specifies a minimum wall thickness of 13 in. What alternative solutions may I consider for post installing dowels into such wall?

Can epoxy anchors be used in 2-course brick wall?,HIT HY-270

Hi Maria,

Technical information for HIT-HY 270 with a threaded rod installed into the top of a multi-wythe brick wall can be found in Table 16 on page 190 of Hilti's Anchor Fastening Product Technical Guide. Hilti only has testing for a 3/8" threaded rod installed into the top of a multi-wythe brick wall that is 3 wythes thick.

Regards,
Ashley
