Good morning,
We have an existing building where there is supposed to be a 2 hour rated wall. However the wall in question does not extend to the underside of the deck and there are multiple pipes in the way. In order to extend the wall and maintain the rating, we will need to firestop around multiple pipes. The pipes in question appear to be PVC electrical conduit as well as insulated metal piping and sprinkler piping. Can you provide a recommendation on how to properly firestop this area?

I wanted to let you know we don't have an exact system to address this application. We however can address your application through an Engineering Judgment which will be a custom detail showing your exact application with the firestop components required to maintain the stated ratings. Depending on the size of the PVC conduits, the solution might require that the conduits be treated per W-L-8095.
