Embedment Depth for #9 Rebar in 6000 psi Concrete Using Hilti HIT-RE 500 V3 (Reference: Table 31, ESR-3814)

I am working on a project that involves post-installed #9 rebar in 6000 psi concrete with Hilti HIT-RE 500 V3 epoxy. I reviewed Table 31 in the ESR-3814 report, which provides embedment depths for 2500 psi and 4000 psi concrete, but I couldn’t find specific recommendations for 6000 psi concrete.

Could you confirm if Table 31 should be used as a reference for determining embedment depth in 6000 psi concrete when using HIT-RE 500 V3? Additionally, if there are any interpolation guidelines or adjustments we should consider based on Table 31, please let me know.

Hi Haka,

You may use Table 31 of ESR-3814 as a reference when performing calculations, but the Concrete to Concrete module in PROFIS Engineering will allow you to analyze your design based on the exact compressive strength of the existing concrete. Access to the software may be found here. Additional information related to post-installed reinforcement may be found in the Post-Installed Reinforcing Bar Guide.

For additional assistance, please reach out to hnatechnicalservices@hilti.com or give us a call at 877-749-6337.

Regards,
Matthew
