Does Hilti have experience on using post installed anchor for Centrifugal Compressor?

On my project we have existing concrete Tabletop, we are replacing the existing Steam Turbine Driver with High Speed 6000rpm Electric Motor (13,350 Horsepower). SME does not trust the existing J-bolts and recommend not to reuse the existing 1 1/2" diameter J-bolts. We will be replacing them with ASTM A193 Grade B7 anchor rods.

Does Hilti have experience using HIT-RE 500 V3 Epoxy anchor with ASTM A 193 Grade B7 anchor rods for Compressor foundation? There is a related ASCE article on this, Technical Notes Mar 9, 2020.

Chemical-Bonded Anchor Bolts versus Traditional J and T Anchor Bolts Used in Machine Foundations

Has Hilti have come across of the above ASCE article for using adhesive anchor for Machine foundation?

Hi Elijah,

Hilti does not have testing specifically for the use of our adhesive anchoring systems with a centrifugal compressor. You could refer to the technical information Hilti has for the HIT-RE 500 V3, as you mentioned, which can be found in Section 3.2.3 of the Anchor Fastening Product Technical Guide and use your engineering judgement to determine if the product is suitable for your application.

If you would like to discuss your application in further depth, please reach out to hnatechnicalservices@hilti.com or give us a call at 877-749-6337.

Regards,
Ashley
