Need to design an anchor for aspalt parking lot

Hilti currently does not have testing for any of our anchors into asphalt.
For asphalt, our general recommendation would be to consider adhesive anchors over a mechanical anchor for asphalt applications, however the capacity resulting from the bond is still uncertain. Some things to consider would be how thick the asphalt is and what is underneath. If the asphalt is fairly thin and has rocks underneath, there could be issues using any of Hilti’s anchors. Ultimately, the decision and approval of the anchor would be up to the Engineer of Record (EOR) for the project since Hilti does not have published test data for anchoring into asphalt.
