Design Information for Using Mechanical Fasteners to Attach Steel Decking to Wood Support Framing
Hello,
We will be applying 18 GA steel roof decking to wood glue-laminated trusses to construct our roof diaphragm. We would like to use Hilti mechanical fasteners. Because the project will be using the X-HSN and X-ENP fasteners elsewhere, these would be preferred. Do you have any design information regarding use of these types of products in this application?

Hi Kelsey,
I have attached a snippet of Table 1 and Table 2 from the Direct Fastening Product Technical Guide that details the acceptable base materials for the X-HSN 24 and X-ENP-19 L15 structural steel frame fasteners.
Hilti does not have any direct fasteners for an application such as using mechanical fasteners to attach steel decking to wood support framing.
