Clarification on Anchor Design Discrepancy in Profis Engineering

Hi, I am reaching out regarding a discrepancy we’ve encountered while using Profis Engineering for anchor design. We ran two different models for the same base plate configuration:
Model 1 – Base plate and anchor bolts only (rigid plate assumed, no stiffener):

  • The anchors pass with approximately 75% utilization.

Model 2 – Base plate with stiffeners included using FEM:

  • The anchors fail with utilization exceeding 200%.

While we understand that the presence of stiffeners can redistribute loads and potentially increase the demand on certain anchors, the magnitude of this difference seems unusually large. We would appreciate your input on why this might be occurring and whether there are specific modeling assumptions or recommendations we should be aware of when using stiffeners in FEM.
Please let us know if you need additional information to investigate further.
Thank you for your support.
