I am writing to request technical guidance regarding the chemical compatibility between the Hilti High-Performance Intumescent Firestop Sealant FS-ONE MAX and the waterproofing products we intend to apply as an over-coating.
Our objective is to ensure that the application of a secondary waterproofing layer will not adversely react with the chemical composition of the FS-ONE MAX, nor degrade its intumescent properties or fire resistance rating.

Type of Request: General Technical Inquiry (Not an Engineering Judgment / EJ request).
Hilti Product in Scope: FS-ONE MAX Intumescent Firestop Sealant.
Objective: Verification of chemical compatibility for over-coating applications.
We have attached the three (3) Data Sheets for the waterproofing options we are currently evaluating.
We require confirmation on whether these specific materials can be applied directly onto the FS-ONE MAX without compromising its UL certification or performance.

In order to assess if these products are compatible, we will need our product management team to run a compatibility check between the Hilti product and the waterproofing product you are wanting to use. To submit this request, please submit a Question case on the Hilti Construction Platform (see access instructions below) and be sure to provide us with the PDS/SDS for the waterproofing product that details its chemical composition, as well as the orientation in which the products will be installed (adjacent, over each other, etc.). We will work with the product management team to determine combability.
