Cast-in-place design - anchor spacing minimum

Cast-in-place design - anchor spacing minimum

I have a foundation design for a pre-engineered metal building. The MB designer designs and supplies the column baseplates and the anchor bolt spacing. ACI 318-19 provides the minimum spacing requirements for CIP anchors as 4d. So, for a 1" diameter anchor - the minimum spacing should be 4"?
The Hilti Profis software will not permit an anchor bolt spacing less than 6" for the 1" dia cast-in-place anchor..
Why is the software requiring a spacing greater than the code minimum?
Having the baseplates revised may delay the project.
Thank you!

Hi Chemelle,

For an un-torqued cast-in place anchor the minimum anchor spacing is 4d and for a torqued cast-in place anchor the minimum anchor spacing is 6d. This information can be found on page 128 of the PROFIS Engineering Design Guide. If you have selected a torqued cast-in place anchor within the software, this could be causing the error message.
