Cast-in anchor minimum edge distance

What determines the minimum edge distance for a cast-in anchor? if supplementary reinforcing to confine the anchor can be provided can this be waived?

Hi Bradley,

Minimum edge distance requirements come from ACI 318-14 Section 17.7.2 when no testing is available. For cast-in-places anchors, the minimum edge distance is 6da which is six times the diameter of the anchor. There is no way to omit the minimum edge distance requirements within PROFIS Engineering; as an alternative, a hand calculation could be performed.

Best,

Emily, I see now that if I select untorqued anchor then basic cover requirements can be used and Profis reflects that. I had thought that if I had selected a cast-in hex head it would not give the option to be torqued but It looks like I have to change that manually.
