Can I use Hilti Profis to model anchor bolts with induced tension from torquing the nuts on anchor bolts against the baseplate? I.e. can I pretension the anchor bolts in the anaysis.

Can I use Hilti Profis to model anchor bolts with induced tension from torquing the nuts on anchor bolts against the baseplate? I.e. can I pretension the anchor bolts in the anaysis.

I have a situation in which I would like to calculate the pressure between concrete and steel for the base plate of a beam that cantilevers off the side of an elevated concrete support. I would like to be able to preload the top anchor bolts in tension in order to create the pressure profile that I require.

Hi Craig,

Unfortunately, there is no option to add an additional pretensioning force to anchors in PROFIS Engineering. The software performs calculations based on the specified installation torque values in Hilti's published technical data.
