When is bottom of wall fire caulking not required?

Bottom of wall applications should always require some type of firestop. This is required through code and local jurisdictions. However, it will be up to your local authority having jurisdiction on whether they are going to enforce this area of the code. I would recommend reaching out to your local AHJ in order to understand what will be expected of your areas needed for firestop.
