When calculating an anchored baseplate for a platform structure, we are under ACI-318 D.3.3.4 type assumption (ductile anchors with the highest % utilization). Can we use Hilti anchors HAS size 3/4" Grade 105? if not, wich Hilti anchor is the maximum strength we can choose under this type D.3.3.4 assumption?
On the other hand, results for D.3.3.4 are simmilar than for D.3.3.6 factor nonductile=1 results; is the same calculation?
Regards.
Hi Luisa,
If D 3.3.4.3 (a) is selected, PROFIS Engineering will filter out all anchor elements considered to be non-ductile. D 3.3.4.3 (a) is satisfied when the criteria in subsections 1 and 2 are met, and the Design Steel Strength of a ductile anchor element has the highest % utilization. It is the responsibility of the user to verify if the criteria in subsections 3-6 are met.
The HAS-B 105 grade is the strongest grade of threaded rod Hilti offers.
Regards,
Dani
