Anchors at Underside of Concrete over Metal Deck

When designing anchors in tension at the underside of an existing concrete over metal deck diaphragm, how close can the anchors be spaced such that their individual capacities are not reduced? I am currently looking at the 2210254 KB-TZ2 1/2x3 3/4 and would like to place two anchors near each other. If I drew a 45 degree line down from the top of each anchor and made sure the lines did not cross, would that be sufficient anchor spacing such that their full capacities can be used? In other words, if I spaced the anchors at least one embed depth apart, could their full capacities be used?

Hi Dan,

The minimum spacing along with length of the flute is 3 x effective embedment for the KB-TZ2 installed into the soffit of concrete over metal deck. This can be seen in Footnote 3 on page 317 of Hilti's Anchor Fastening Product Technical Guide.

Ashley
