I am currently working on a project involving the repair of a delaminated 12-inch-thick concrete wall. The repair scope includes removing deteriorated concrete to a depth of approximately 3 to 4 inches until the vertical reinforcing steel is exposed, followed by restoration of the affected area with a repair material.
As part of the project, I also need to install a post-installed anchor within the repaired portion of the wall. If an epoxy anchor with a 6-1/2-inch embedment depth is specified, are there any concerns regarding its installation or performance? Additionally, are there any code-related restrictions, manufacturer requirements, or industry best practices that should be considered when installing an adhesive anchor through repaired concrete into the existing wall substrate?
