Anchoring to precast panels

Anchoring to precast panels

There are some precast wall panels that I would like to anchor to. They are 8" thick, 3" of concrete on either side and 2" of insulation in the center. The anchors will be outdoors. I would like to get about 600 lbs. of tension capacity per anchor. What are my options for a post-installed anchor?

Hi Nicholas,

Hilti does not have test data available for installing anchors through multiple base materials, such as layers of concrete and insulation. All of Hilti’s testing is performed in monolithic concrete slabs. For anchoring into one of the concrete slabs in your application for outdoor conditions, a shallow anchor such as a stainless-steel Kwik Con+ could be considered, but all design loads and installation parameters would need to be verified by the Engineer of Record on the project.

Katelyn
