Anchoring to high density concrete
Does high density concrete, which is commonly used in linear accelerator vaults for radiation shielding, affect the performance of expansion anchors or chemical anchors? Note that this is not high strength concrete. It is high density concrete.

Hi Michael,
Chapter 2 of ACI 318-19 defines normal weight concrete as conforming to ASTM C33 and having a density greater than 135 lb/ft3. It goes on to give a range of normal weight concrete density between 135 lb/ft3 and 160 lb/ft3, with the density normally being 145 to 150 lb/ft3.
