Hilti- please tell me what anchors I can use for small tension load in old 9 inch thick brick wall (presumed solid but could be hollow.) ICC Reports for Hilti anchors are for 13 inch thick wall. Thanks in advance!
Hi Marc,
In general, HIT-HY 270 is considered Hilti's ultimate performance anchoring option for hollow and solid brick base materials. If the minimum base material thickness requirement for HIT-HY 270 cannot be met, you may also consider using a mechanical anchor such as the HMH Nail-in anchor or HLC sleeve anchor. Technical information for the HMH Nail-in may be found here on Hilti's website, while information for the HLC sleeve anchor can be found in Section 3.3.18 of the Anchor Fastening Technical Guide. Final anchor selection will ultimately be at the discretion of the Engineer of Record on the project.
