Anchor Design - Concrete Breakout

Anchor Design - Concrete Breakout

Trying to confirm anchor embedment / pier design for pre-engineered metal building foundation. The thrust (shear) load is approximately 43 kips. It is a (6) anchor configuration with 1" diameter anchors. We are trying to avoid anchor reinforcement (hairpins, etc.). Having trouble getting anything close to working in Profis. Seems like concretr breakout is controlling and the pier sizes are getting much too large. Am I overlooking something that is throwing off the results?

Hi Zachary,

A helpful tool in PROFIS Engineering is the "Calculate All" option. I have included a snippet below for your reference. If you are still not able to find an anchoring solution that works, you may need to consider a different anchor layout, number of anchors, or a different anchor to accommodate your design.

Regards,
Ashley
