allowance for unprotected steel such as clip/hanger installation?

Hello Stanley and thank you for utilizing ASK Hilti! The IBC 2015 and NFPA documents usually calls out for structural steel to be protected up to a given hourly rating based on the building design. If these clips are holding non-structural members such as pipe racks and municipal piping, then the code does not call out for them to be protected.
