Adjust rebar embedment length in concrete-to-concrete connections usint HY200
I am looking to anchor a concrete pier to existing concrete using #6 bars with 6" embed. The program is telling me to use the development length?

Hi Doug,
The concrete to concrete module in PROFIS Engineering calculates the development length needed to develop the yield strength of the bar. For more information regarding rebar development theory, please reference Hilti's Post Installed Reinforcing Bar Guide here. If you are looking to design using anchor theory per ACI 318 Chapter 17, please utilize the anchoring to concrete module.
