I am working on a project under construction in Chicago. We have a ground level enclosed retail and lobby spaces that sit below an exterior unenclosed parking level. The slab between the two levels is 3hr rated.
I am looking for a cost effective perimeter firestop solution for a 6" gap, 3hr rated, between a curtain wall and crash rail/slab. See the attached detail for reference.
The firestopping will be located inside of the building enclosure and will bridge between the concrete slab and a galvanized steel backpan at the back of the curtain wall.
The firestopping system needs to be ANSI/UL 2079 (ASTM E2307) rated.
