Good Morning,
I was wondering if you have a design available for a 3-hour Continuity Head-of-Wall Joint and penetrations (for Roof Purlins / Purlin bracing) for a fire barrier wall in-line with and terminating below a Pre-Engineered Metal Building MAINFRAME. The local AHJ is considering the Purlin Penetrations to be "supporting construction" however with the framing for the rated assembly entirely supported by the PEMB mainframe, it seems we have an argument to be made that the Purlins are simply "penetrations". Unfortunately, we currently do not have a 3-hr system for continuity head of wall. However, we can provide an Engineering Judgement (EJ) for you to reflect the conditions you have, I've included information on how to submit a request below.
