Can I use the CFS-TTS Firestop Top Track Seal when I have a 2" deflection requirement? This means the compressible material of your product needs to be longer than 2" to receive the gypsum wall board. Is that correct? Is this possible?
Hi Shawn - thanks for using AskHilti. I apologize for the extensive delay on the response here.
We would not recommend our CFS-TTS product for a joint with 2" deflection. Our CFS-TTS MD product could accommodate /- 50% compression/extension when installed in accordance with UL Listed System HW-D-0880. That would give you /- 1/2" movement (1" total) when installed in a nominal 1" joint width.
Hilti would not offer a firestopping product that could accommodate the 2" movement requested.
