Hi, I have a membrane penetration in a 1hr gyp wall (metal stud with 5/8" gyp on each side) however the penetration is continuous, from a structural wide-flange column that's also rated, 2hr (spray-applied fireproofing). One column flange is parallel with the wall and centered within it stud cavity resulting in the column web being continuous penetration on one side of the wall. Is there a UL detail for this? Or can you provide an EJ? I'm wondering if a membrane penetration is acceptable or if the column would also need to be protected via gyp.
