18-8 Stainless Steel

Is 18-8 stainless steel a valid substitution for 304SS threaded rods? Both seem to fall under ASTM F593 and have a similar chemical composition with similar mechanical properties. Some sources even equate them both. Just needed to verify.

Hi Octavio,

If you are installing one of Hilti's adhesive anchoring systems, the requirements for permissible threaded rods can be found in the ESR document. If the threaded rod meets the requirements laid out in Section 3.2.5 of the respective ESR document, then the threaded rod is able to be used with the adhesive.
