We are looking for some direction for NEMA 1 electrical junction box installed in a wood framed 1 hr wall (Ul assembly U305). The wall is a 2x6 wood framed with (1) layer of 5/8 on each side. I cant find any fire rating documents for the junction box.
The box is mounted for the front of our box to protrude 2 inches past the face the wall to allow for surface wiring. Electrical inspector will not allow this installation with additional firestopping measures.
Is there an EJ that would cover this installation?
