1-HR CMU Head of Wall condition for conc. floor on load bearing cmu

Hello,
I have a project with a mezzanine where I am intending to bear the 5" nominal (1 1/2" deck with 3 1/2" concrete) mezzanine slab on 8" cmu. Is there a UL listed condition for a concrete slab to "turn down" and grout to the CMU bearing walls without requiring a firestopping joint? Refer to the attached detail for intent.

Greetings Audrey,

Thank you for using ASK Hilti!

Unfortunately, we cannot give you information on whether or not firestop will be required. We can only provide guidance on how to firestop when it is required. I would recommend reaching out to your local jurisdiction to determine if/when firestop will be required for you.

If you have any questions firestop related, please reach out to our customer service team at 1-800-879-8000 (US) or
1-800-363-4458 (Canada) and ask to speak to the firestop team for assistance. We would be happy to walk you through the details of any firestopping Hilti UL/cUL listed systems you needed.

Thank you for choosing Hilti as your firestop experts!

Best Regards,

Austin Griffith
