    The Hilti Group closed the challenging COVID-19 pandemic year of 2020 with a decline in sales of 9.6 percent, totaling CHF 5.3 billion, and an operating profit of CHF 728 million (-7,0%). Nevertheless, investments in strategic initiatives continued as planned to ensure the long-term success of the company.

    George Brown College and Hilti (Canada) Corporation partner to support women’s education, employment in skilled trades

    George Brown College has partnered with Hilti (Canada) Corporation to help women build rewarding careers in the skilled trades. Through a $40,000 financial contribution, Hilti (Canada) Corporation is helping to expand George Brown College’s Women Transitioning to Trades and Employment (WTTE) program by providing access to industry expertise and hands-on learning.

    Hilti Earns Top Marks in Human Rights Campaign’s 2021 Corporate Equality Index

    Hilti proudly announced that it received a score of 100 on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s 2021 Corporate Equality Index, the nation’s foremost benchmarking survey and report measuring corporate policies and practices related to LGBTQ workplace equality. Hilti joins the ranks of 767 major U.S. businesses that also earned top marks this year.

    COVID-19 Pandemic Leads to a Decline in Sales

    Despite signs of a recovery, Hilti’s 2020 sales of CHF 5.3 billion were 9.6 percent below the level of the previous year. In local currencies the decline amounted to 4.3 percent.

    Hilti and Ottobock Bring Exoskeleton Solutions to the Construction Industry

    The Hilti Group has entered into a technology partnership with Ottobock SE & Co. KGaA to develop exoskeletal systems.     Coronavirus Crisis Leads to Sales Decline

    After a good start to the year with mid-single-digit growth, Hilti experienced a sharp drop in business in north Asia, in February, due to the spread of coronavirus. From mid-March onwards all markets around the world experienced a significant decline in sales. The sales downturn was less pronounced in countries where construction activities continued, such as Germany, Scandinavia and the USA.
