I would like to know the compressive strength, tensile strength and modulus of elasticity of HIT-HY 200,etc. Can it be used in place of a non-shrink grout at base plate?

The base plate holes for the anchors are too large(2" bolt needs 3.25" hole). AISC design guide-1 manual table 2.3 says these are minimum values. AISC manual table 14-2 says these are maximum. Can we reduce the hole size, if so what would be limit? what is ACI-318-14 recommended value on these anchor hole sizes? what is the t...

Can you build a metal framed gyp board wall on top of a grouted cmu wall and then try to call the wall a rated wall? I say no because a wall is only rated if it attaches to the floor or roof slab above and the floor slab below with a head of wall joint and bottom of wall joint that is also a tested assembly according to 707.5...

Usually we use grout under base-plate for cast in place or epoxy anchors. But is this practice acceptable in HILTI Wedge (Expansion) anchors (such as Kwik Bolts)? Is this a standard practice ? Does grout or the space left for grouting cause a problem when installing the anchors ? If it is acceptable, are there any special pro...
